The Role
Smurfit Westrock Sheetfeeding are looking to recruit an Engineering Apprentice to join our team of multiskilled engineers at our site in Fishergate, Norwich.
This is a key development role to make sure that the site has the necessary engineering skills for the future as part of its succession planning. Interested individuals will need to demonstrate that they are committed to a career in engineering and ongoing training and development.
Applicants will need to be able to work independently as well as being part of the wider maintenance and operations teams, whilst following health and safety procedures. A flexible approach to working hours will be required to aid development, that will encompass working across all shifts and weekend working.
In order to apply for this apprenticeship candidates will need to have 4 GCSEβs at grade 5 or above/ equivalent including Maths, English and Science. Strong communication, ICT and problem solving skills are also essential requirements of an engineering apprentice role.
The successful applicant will be supported through a 5 year apprenticeship programme in Engineering Maintenance. In addition to this they will also complete additional professional training including completing modules at the Smurfit Westrock Engineering Academy. The full development plan and pay progression milestones will be agreed with the successful candidate.
