The Role: To support profitable business growth and maintenance of existing customers through collaboration and commercial proactivity, creativity, insights and analysis. To support the Sales and Customer Service team through efficient processing of estimates. Drive profit enhancement by focusing on input costs and price maximisation. Liaising with Operations and Suppliers ensuring correct materials arrive to suit the critical path and within the estimated costs.
- Manage daily workload and prioritise effectively.
- Pre-flight of enquiries identifying appropriate use of Ball Park Prices, Estimates (based on catalogue or cutters) or when it is appropriate to fully design and discuss with design any commercial consideration.
- Efficient set up of Iquote estimate specification with close attention to detail to estimate cost and provide accurate works instructions and purchasing requirements.
- Proactively researching alternative scenarios for manufacture/supply to ensure the most cost effective solution to meet the customer needs is identified and considers any technical issues.
- Consideration of historical or market information to assist with successful price setting, collaborating as required and ensuring the company’s price authorisation process is observed.
- Timely preparation of quotations or proposals including if necessary the completion of tenders, questionnaires and preparation of presentation material.
- Work in close collaboration with the sales team providing proactive advice and guidance on commercials offers and selling prices, working together to support the sales process and win profitable business.
- Attend project briefs to ensure the commercial considerations made at the time of pricing are observed and advise budgeted costs to other departments.
- Report or escalated as appropriate if original profit expectations will not be reached.
- Provide reporting and commentary on your accounts including profit enhancement, insights, learnings or opportunities.
- Accurate and timely purchasing of materials required utilising the various IT systems and adhering to approval policies and ensuring from approved suppliers checking they are within estimated costs and will be delivered to suit the critical path.
- Following up as necessary.
You will be an excellent team player, adaptable, analytical, quick thinking, methodical, service driven, exceptional attention to detail, high work standards, creative, well developed organizational and time management skills, highly numerate and literate, with developed analytical skills. Highly proficient in the Microsoft office suite; particularly Excel with the ability to communicate clearly and confidently both verbally and in writing. This is a commercially focussed analytical role which requires creativity and attention to detail. Ideally, an understanding of POS or corrugated product and/or manufacturing processes.
