Join the Smurfit Westrock digital transformation journey as a Platforms Architect, leading the design and delivery of cutting‑edge data integration and automation solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop enterprise integration architectures using Mulesoft, Workato, and UI Path to support business automation, data exchange, and process optimisation.
- Lead technical strategy and best practices for integration solutions across multi‑year programmes, with a primary focus on S4 Hana migration and centralised HR systems.
- Guide the modernisation of existing integration landscapes, including the phased retirement of Biztalk and Webmethods applications.
- Collaborate closely with business stakeholders, project managers, and technical teams to gather requirements and translate them into robust architectural solutions.
- Define and enforce integration standards, data governance principles, and security practices for all system interfaces.
- Oversee the end‑to‑end lifecycle of automation initiatives, from design through deployment and optimisation.
- Mentor and guide platform engineers and developers, fostering a culture of technical excellence and continuous improvement.
- Document architectural decisions, integration patterns, and operational procedures.
- Remain current with evolving integration and automation technologies, recommending adoption of innovative tools that align with enterprise goals.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related technical discipline.
- Proven experience designing and implementing enterprise integration solutions with Mulesoft (Anypoint Platform), Workato, and/or UI Path.
- Strong understanding of SAP S4 Hana integration approaches and methodologies.
- Experience modernising legacy middleware platforms (Biztalk, Webmethods) and migrating to cloud‑native or hybrid architectures.
- Expertise in API management, data mapping, workflow automation, and security practices for integration scenarios.
- Demonstrated ability to architect solutions that address data quality, scalability, reliability, and performance.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills across technical and non‑technical roles.
- Track record of delivering complex projects in global or distributed enterprise environments.
- Certification in Mulesoft, Workato, UI Path, or SAP Integration Suite.
- Experience with HR platform integrations (e.g., SuccessFactors, Workday).
- Knowledge of industry regulations and data privacy frameworks relevant to large‑scale integration projects.
- Agile or DevOps certification/experience is a plus.
