We're looking for an experienced People Compliance Manager to strengthen our people's compliance framework across the business.

This is a high-profile role with responsibility for GDPR, ethical trade compliance, employment compliance and governance activities across a large, multi-site organisation.

Reporting into and working closely with the HR Operations Manager, you'll play a key role in reducing risk, driving best practice and ensuring we continue to meet the highest standards of compliance and ethical conduct.

What you'll do

  • Lead people compliance initiatives across GDPR, Modern Slavery and ethical trading requirements.
  • Manage SMETA (Sedex Members Ethical Trade Audit) and customer compliance audits, ensuring successful outcomes across multiple sites.
  • Oversee Data Subject Access Requests (DSARs) and employee data governance.
  • Develop and maintain policies, procedures and compliance frameworks.
  • Deliver compliance training and promote best practice across the business.
  • Build strong relationships with auditors, regulators and internal stakeholders.
  • Analyse compliance risks and drive continuous improvement.

About you

  • You'll be a proactive and commercially minded compliance professional with:
  • Experience in HR compliance, governance, audit or HR operations.
  • Strong knowledge of UK employment legislation and GDPR.
  • Experience managing audits and compliance programmes.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Manufacturing experience, knowledge of Sedex/SMETA and project management experience would be advantageous.
