HR Administrator
Salary: Β£27,000 per annum
Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00am to 5:00pm, with one hour for lunch
Contract: Full time, Permanent
Location: Northampton, Fully office based

SMT Recruitment are delighted to be supporting a growing and established HR consultancy in the recruitment of an experienced HR Administrator to join their team.
This is an excellent opportunity for an HR professional who is looking to further develop their career within a varied and fast paced environment. Working within an outsourced HR setting, you will support a diverse portfolio of clients with their day to day HR requirements, gaining exposure to a broad range of businesses, employee matters and employment law.
The successful candidate will already have experience within an HR Administrator or HR support position and will be confident producing professional HR documentation, managing high volumes of administration and communicating with clients.
Key Responsibilities
As HR Administrator, your responsibilities will include:
- Providing day to day HR administration and support across a varied portfolio of clients
- Supporting with HR processes and procedures
- Drafting and preparing HR policies, contracts, letters, employee handbooks and associated documentation
- Completing high volume HR administration accurately and efficiently
- Maintaining accurate and up to date employee records
- Handling sensitive and confidential employee information with complete discretion
- Supporting clients with HR and employment law related queries
- Keeping knowledge of UK employment law and relevant legislation up to date
- Producing professional written correspondence, including letters, templates and emails
- Communicating professionally with clients via telephone and email
- Updating and maintaining HR systems and databases
- Ensuring all documentation is completed with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Providing general administrative support to the wider HR team as required
Skills and Experience Required
The successful candidate will ideally have:
- Significant previous experience within an HR Administrator, HR Assistant or HR support position
- CIPD Level 3 qualification or currently working towards a recognised CIPD qualification
- A good working knowledge of current UK employment law
- Experience drafting HR documentation, including policies, contracts, letters and employee handbooks
- Experience maintaining employee records and handling confidential information
- Strong knowledge of GDPR and the importance of confidentiality when dealing with employee data
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- A professional and confident telephone manner
- The ability to articulate themselves clearly and professionally when communicating with clients
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage a high volume workload
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Previous experience using Breathe HR software would be advantageous, although experience with similar HR systems will also be considered
- A proactive approach to keeping knowledge of employment law and HR legislation current
- The ability to work independently whilst also contributing effectively as part of a team
Due to the office location, candidates must be able to drive and have access to suitable transport.

About the Role
This position would suit an experienced HR Administrator who enjoys variety and wants to build broader HR experience.
Rather than supporting one organisation, you will work across a portfolio of different clients, providing outsourced HR support and assisting with a wide range of HR processes and employment law matters.
The successful candidate will be professional, articulate and highly organised, with excellent written communication skills and a genuine interest in developing their HR career.
