Purpose of the role
We’re looking for an experienced Employee Relations Advisor to take ownership of a busy ER caseload across a specific division of the business. You’ll manage cases from beginning to end, working closely with managers to provide practical advice and guidance around policies, procedures and employment legislation, with some opportunity to support wider HR activity and projects
What will you be doing?
- Managing a busy ER caseload from initial issue through to resolution
- Leading and conducting investigations, disciplinary and grievance hearings and appeals
- Managing performance, capability and absence cases
- Advising managers on policies, procedures and the appropriate course of action
- Providing pragmatic advice while considering both employee and business risk
- Coaching managers through difficult conversations and complex employee situations
- Preparing the relevant documentation and ensuring cases are managed accurately and consistently
- Supporting restructuring, consultation and wider organisational change where required
- Getting involved in broader HR projects and generalist activity as needed
What we're looking for
• Strong, recent experience managing Employee Relations cases independently from beginning to end.
• Confident leading investigations, disciplinary and grievance hearings and appeals.
• Sound knowledge of UK employment legislation, HR policies and ACAS best practice.
• Able to confidently advise and coach managers through complex or sensitive employee matters.
• A pragmatic, approachable communicator who can build strong relationships while confidently challenging when needed.
• CIPD Level 5 qualification or equivalent experience would be beneficial.
Job Title: Employee Relations Advisor
Salary: £50,000 – £55,000
Contract: 6 Month Maternity Cover
Location: Borehamwood
Hours: Monday-Friday
