SMT GB is searching for a dedicated Product & Application Specialist focused on Road Equipment. In this role, you will leverage your technical expertise and knowledge to support our sales teams and customers, ensuring they fully understand and can utilise our comprehensive range of road equipment products.
What You'll Be Doing
- Provide professional technical & advisory support to both Road Equipment Engineers, GPE Engineers and customers for our range of Dynapac Road Equipment products.
- Co-ordinate together with the service team and technical support, including site visits with customers at either SMT locations or customer premises.
- Assist sales department with demonstrations, technical modifications, including the preparation of documentation.
- Investigate, diagnose repeat failures and liaise with relevant individuals as appropriate, providing high quality reports.
- Advise on technical warranty claims and procedures with suppliers and SMT warranty department.
- Deliver engaging, learner focused technical training both internally and externally on all Road Machinery products, in support of the SMT GB Training Department.
- Build and maintain relationships with both new and existing customers.
What You'll Bring
- Proven experience in the construction or heavy machinery industry, specifically with road equipment.
- Strong technical background, ideally holding an NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification in Engineering or Construction Equipment.
- Experience delivering training to both internal stakeholders and external customers.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to a non-technical audience.
- Demonstrable ability to engage with customers and build lasting relationships.
- Self‐motivated, proactive, and a strong team player.
- Ability to travel within the UK and occasionally internationally for client meetings and product demonstrations.
- A valid driver's license.
Desirable
- Familiarity with ERP systems and reporting tools.
- Knowledge of Dynapac equipment.
