The role focuses on delivering first-class service to internal and external customers, actively seeking revenue opportunities, and discussing these with customers, Customer Support Representatives, and your Line Manager.
Responsibilities:
- Service and repair Volvo construction equipment and other machinery
- Identify mechanical issues using technical knowledge and diagnostic equipment, providing guidance to customers
- Promote additional service revenue and aftermarket solutions in a commercially focused manner
- Follow quotations and time guides, notifying management of potential additional work
- Ensure software updates are installed upon release
- Complete tablet inputs, electronic reports, and timesheets in real-time with detailed work descriptions
- Order necessary parts and return them in a clean condition upon job completion
- Work overtime and respond to call-out requests as needed
- Attend relevant training courses
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:
In order to succeed, you should have:
- A formal engineering qualification in Plant Maintenance, Agricultural/HGV mechanics, or related discipline (e.g., NVQ 3/C&G)
- Relevant experience in repairing and maintaining heavy construction plant, with proven skills in diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, and electrics
- Advanced diagnostic and troubleshooting skills, with a good understanding of hydraulics, electrics, and EATS
- Effective communication skills with colleagues, management, and customers
- A cost-conscious approach to maximize profitability
- Strong problem-solving and diagnostic abilities
- Proficiency with computer systems and Outlook
- High attention to detail and conscientiousness
- Reliability, honesty, and responsibility
- Ability to understand technical literature and systems
- Experience in Welding and Fabrication
