We are seeking a Field Service Engineer to join our Stirling depot, covering North East Scotland.
What you will be doing:
- Service and repair Volvo construction equipment and other machinery
- Identify mechanical problems using technical knowledge and diagnostic equipment, providing guidance to customers
- Seek additional service revenue opportunities and promote aftermarket solutions
- Work according to quotations and time guides, informing management of additional work needed
- Install software updates as released
- Complete tablet inputs, electronic reports, and timesheets in real-time with detailed work descriptions
- Order parts as needed and return parts in good condition upon job completion
- Work overtime and respond to call-out requests as required
- Attend relevant product or system training courses
In order to succeed, you should have:
- A formal engineering qualification in Plant Maintenance, Agricultural/HGV mechanics, or a related discipline (e.g., NVQ 3/C&G)
- Experience in repairing and maintaining heavy construction plant, with proven skills in diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, and electrics
- Advanced diagnostic skills and a good understanding of hydraulics, electrics, and EATS systems
- Effective communication skills with colleagues, management, and customers
- A cost-conscious approach to maximize profitability
- Strong problem-solving and diagnostic abilities
- Proficiency with computer systems and Outlook
- Attention to detail and conscientiousness
- Responsibility, reliability, honesty, and trustworthiness
- Ability to understand technical literature and systems
- Residing within 20 miles of Aberdeen
