What's the role?

We are seeking a highly capable Asset & Reporting Analyst to manage and analyze stock and fixed asset data while delivering high quality management information, including Power BI dashboards, to support both operational and strategic decision making. This role sits at the intersection of finance control, data, and commercial insight. You will work confidently with large, complex datasets across multiple legal entities, ensuring accuracy, integrity, and clarity of financial information. As a curious and analytical problem solver, you will be equally comfortable deep diving into data, optimizing queries, and presenting complex analysis as clear, meaningful insight. A natural collaborator, business stakeholder, ensuring data and reporting meet business needs. By understanding business requirements, you will deliver accurate, user friendly MI that supports strong commercial decision making. This role is offered on a 6-months Fixed-Term contract. The working hours are 40 hours per week, 8:30am to 5:00pm, Monday to Friday.

Key Responsibilities

  • Stock & Fixed Asset Accounting
    • Prepare and own stock and fixed asset balance sheet reconciliations and supporting analysis.
    • Calculate and process month end stock provisions and valuation adjustments.
    • Process stock and asset journals including scrapping, corrections, reclassifications, and comms adjustments.
    • Analyse depreciation, standard cost changes, and asset movements.
    • Support stock counts, ledger reconciliations, and audit requirements.
    • Process asset event files, job closure packs, and maintain supporting logs and controls.
    • Manage intercompany stock movements and invoicing to group entities.
  • Data Analysis, Insight & MI Reporting
    • Analyse large and complex finance and operational datasets to identify trends and risks.
    • Develop and maintain Power BI dashboards for stock, fixed assets, and cost analysis.
    • Gather data and insight requirements to deliver regular and ad hoc MI reporting for finance leadership and key stakeholders.
    • Ensure data accuracy, integrity, and consistency across multiple data sources.
    • Translate complex financial data into clear, actionable insights for non technical audiences.
  • Reporting Automation & Continuous Improvement
    • Automate recurring reports and reconciliations using Power BI and advanced Excel.
    • Identify opportunities to streamline reporting and finance processes.
    • Work with finance systems and operational teams to improve data flows.
    • Contribute to scalable and standardised reporting frameworks.

Requirements

  • Extensive experience in finance systems, data analytics or similar role.
  • Strong ability to handle and analyse large datasets.
  • Advanced Excel skills and experience with Power BI reporting.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities across entities or workstreams.
  • Proficiency in SQL (advanced queries or optimization)/ data model experience.
  • Experience in high volume transactional environments.
  • Understanding of finance controls and audit requirements.
  • Highly organised with strong attention to detail.
  • Curious and analytical with a structured and problem‑solving mindset.
  • Strong communication skills and confidence presenting insights.
  • Resilient, proactive, and comfortable delivering under pressure.
