We are looking for a proactive and detail‑oriented Stock Administrator to play a vital role in our logistics operation. Based within our warehouse environment, the role ensures accurate stock control and fast, efficient turnaround of gas and electric meters, while maintaining full compliance with industry regulations and asset governance. Working as part of the Logistics Stock team and reporting to the Reverse Asset Team Leader, you will collaborate closely with Operations, Transport, Asset Protection, third‑party refurbishment partners, and other meter asset owners. This hands‑on, fast‑paced role requires strong communication skills, system accuracy, and close teamwork to support engineers and keep stock moving seamlessly across both forward and reverse logistics functions. Working Monday to Friday, 6:00 am to 4:00 pm, 40‑hour per week onsite at our Barnsley Warehouse. This is a 12‑month Fixed Term Contract.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and update stock management systems and Excel trackers, ensuring high levels of data accuracy, reporting, and audit readiness.
- Manage stock movements, replenishment, and physical stock accuracy across all warehouse depots, identifying shortfalls and coordinating replenishment.
- Create picking, removal, and engineer order lists for the warehouse using data from multiple systems and sources.
- Liaise daily with internal teams (including Glasgow and Doncaster) and third parties regarding collections, deliveries, storage, and stock requests.
- Support month‑end stock checks and work closely with the Stock Team Leader to ensure accurate stock holding.
- Order specialist stock items, track delivery progress, and communicate updates to relevant business areas.
- Respond proactively to queries and complete ad‑hoc tasks that support reverse logistics operations and the wider business.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Educated to GCSE level in Maths, English and ICT, or equivalent.
- Experience working in a fast‑paced environment.
- Excellent interpersonal skills for communicating effectively verbally and in writing.
- Strong customer service and relationship building skills.
- Strong computer skills including MS Excel, Outlook and Word.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics 365 is preferred but not crucial.
