Shift Engineer - Multi-skilled Engineers (Mechanical)

Our client, one of the UK’s premier manufacturers of civil and construction steel products, is looking for an experienced Maintenance Engineer to work within their manufacturing facility in the Sheffield area. The role is responsible for the maintenance and repair of all mechanical and electromechanical equipment within our client’s facility. Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, and bearings is required, and if possible, some basic electrical exposure to things like 3 phase electrical, motors, drives, and controls which would be found in cutting and bending machines. The role requires applicants who have reactive and proactive maintenance and repair experience as well as fault finding experience. These are industrial engineering types of roles and require applicants to work on an early and late rotation Monday to Friday. Overtime will be available, and applicants who are happy to pick this up would be ideal.

Applicants will preferably have present or previous mechanical and electrical maintenance and repair experience. Applicants with fault finding experience would be ideal. Applicants should be suitably qualified within mechanical trade experience and, if possible, have some basic electrical knowledge (mechanically time served or apprenticeship) but should ideally be mechanically multi-skilled with some basic electrical experience.
