Our client, a successful provider of metal solutions, is looking for an experienced, professional Electrical Engineer for their Glasgow site. With a wide range of applications, our client provides total solutions and unparalleled service and technical backup to customers.
The Role
Reporting to the Business Manager, the role involves both reactive and proactive service and repair of the plant. The position is highly electrical-focused but suitable for multi-skilled engineers with strong electrical experience. Key problem areas include motors, drives and controls. The facility operates 24 hrs, so the role includes on‑call rota time shared within the department.
The Person
Applicants should have current or previous electrical service and maintenance experience in heavy engineering. Relevant qualifications, teamwork ability and experience working at height are preferred. The role requires shift work (7 am‑3 pm, alternating with 3 pm‑11 pm the following week) and will work as part of a 3‑4 man team, including an apprentice.
The role offers a competitive salary of £35‑45 k per annum, with a bonus paid twice yearly and overnight call‑out allowance. Overtime is paid at a fixed rate, and the employee must be able to cover night‑shift call‑outs on rotation. Final salary pension contributions of 9 % from the employee and 12 % from the company are provided, together with private medical cover.
