CNC Miller Programmer & CNC Turner Programmer Our client, one of the Scotland’s specialist manufacturers of Precision Machined Engineering components is looking for two experienced, professional CNC Programmer/Setter/Operators for their milling and for their turning CNC Machines. The Role The roles in require applicants who have the ability to look at technical drawings, CAD drawings, who are able to programme, set and operate CNC equipment. Our client requires CNC Machinists to work from their facility in Glasgow. Our client requires applicants who come from a light, precision, CNC Milling and CNC Turning engineering backgrounds to produce industrial components to a very fine tolerance. The role will be working on CNC machines to produce low volume batch components, one off to two hundred. Programming experience and ability is essential and knowledge of working within a machine shop environment would be an advantage. CAD experience would also be an advantage to understand the requirements from our clients’ customers. The candidate would be required to work on their own initiative using engineering drawings and working to tight tolerances. This role requires applicants to manage the entire process from start to finish with minimal or little supervision. The Person Applicants will preferably have present or previous precision CNC experience machining small batch components and working in small batch prototyping. However, applicants with CNC experience within a Machine Shop environment would also be ideal as long as they are comfortable working to low tolerances. Work pattern is generally Monday to Friday although this can be flexible, working a 4-day condensed week of half-day Fridays for example. Overtime will also be available and paid at premium rates. Our clients’ workshops are a clean environment workplace due to the nature of material used and internal work practices. You will receive a competitive salary of between £40-50K basic depending on experience, OT enhanced rates, pension scheme and holiday.
