Smart Manufacturing Solutions is currently recruiting for a Mechanical Maintenance Technician on behalf of a valued client based in Stockton-on-Tees. The successful candidate will join a small, dedicated maintenance team responsible for the day-to-day upkeep of plant equipment and machinery.
Key responsibilities include:
- Conducting preventative maintenance, responding to breakdowns, and carrying out routine service and repair tasks to ensure optimal operational efficiency.
- Working alongside external contractors during the completion of routine servicing and repairs.
- Fault diagnosis and instigating repairs.
- Performing preventive maintenance duties on a range of equipment including overhead cranes, CNC machines and shot blasts.
- Working alongside section team leaders to identify concerns and rectify machine problems.
- Assisting with the safe decommissioning of old plant/equipment and the safe installation/commissioning of new.
- Maintaining working areas in accordance with 5S.
- Using appropriate safety equipment and techniques to adhere to company procedures.
- Mentoring Department trainees/apprentices.
Requirements:
- Apprenticeship or Mechanically qualified - City and Guilds or equivalent level 3.
- HNC (Preferred but not essential).
- MEWP Licence (Preferred but will be provided).
- Proactive attitude.
- Previous experience working with Hydraulic systems.
- Previous experience working with Pneumatic Systems.
- Previous experience working with Overhead Cranes.
Working Hours:
- Dayshift - Monday to Thursday 06:00 to 14:15, Friday 06:00 to 12:45.
- Backshift - Monday to Thursday 14:15 to 22:30, Friday 12:45 to 19:30.
