About the Role SMS Mining Services is seeking an experienced and strategic General Manager – HSET to lead and enhance our Health, Safety, Environment, Training and Injury Management function across our operations.
This opportunity has arisen following an internal promotion, reflecting our commitment to developing and advancing our people.
Reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer, this is a critical leadership role responsible for driving a high-performance safety culture, ensuring legislative compliance, and supporting operational excellence across the business.
This role is responsible for the leadership, development and continuous improvement of SMS Mining Services' HSET strategy, systems and performance.
Key responsibilities include: Strategic Leadership Develop and execute the HSET strategy aligned with the organisation's vision, objectives and growth plans.
Provide trusted advice and guidance to the Executive Leadership Team on HSET risks, opportunities and emerging industry trends.
Embed a culture of accountability, leadership and proactive risk management across all levels of the business.
Be a visible and credible leader across all SMS operations.
