Water Treatment Engineer Permanent Oxfordshire: Up to £38,000 OTE plus double rate overtime Field based. Looking for a hands-on role that makes a difference? What will I be doing?
You’ll be out on the road, visiting a variety of client sites — from hospitals and schools to commercial and industrial settings — making sure their water systems are compliant, clean, and safe. Your day-to-day will include:
- Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM), sampling, flushing, disinfecting, and chemical treatment of water systems
- Performing remedial works, tank cleans, and chlorination
- Ensuring compliance with ACOP L8, HSG274, and other water hygiene regulations
- Recording and reporting site activities accurately using company systems
- Spotting and reporting system issues before they become bigger problems
- Representing SMS Environmental professionally with clients on-site
- Supporting and mentoring newer engineers as part of a collaborative team
What do I need to be successful?
We’re looking for someone who:
- Has proven experience in water hygiene, treatment, or Legionella control
- Understands water hygiene legislation and best practice
- Communicates clearly and confidently with clients and colleagues
- Works well independently and manages time effectively
- Holds a City & Guilds qualification (or equivalent) in Water Hygiene
- Has a full UK driving licence
- Ability to pass Disclosure and Barring Service clearance (Enhanced DBS check)
