We are seeking an experienced Finishing Shift Supervisor to support the Finishing Shift Manager in ensuring smooth and efficient collation and packing operations throughout the shift. You will be responsible for organising packing tables according to promotional requirements, assigning team leaders to their respective teams, monitoring quality control standards, and managing the accurate allocation of client stock. This position requires strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively to maintain high operational standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Liaise with Finishing Shift Manager to ensure appropriate staffing levels for each shift and appropriate workload
- Communicate appropriate job instructions to team leaders and team members alike
- Ensure all work is prepared in a timely manner for packing and laying of packing tables
- Lay all tables and check the quality of print prior to commencing collate and pack
- Ensure all print is labelled correctly prior to commencing collate and pack
- Check packing accuracy in line with the company’s agreed service level agreements
- Check all packing materials and quality of packing in line with the company’s guidelines
- Report all non-conformances as per the company’s R.A.C.I. procedures. Communicate this to the teams as necessary
- Plan and manage all team activity in consultation with the Finishing Shift Manager and agreed budgets and timescales
Key Competencies
- Good knowledge of technical aspects of print finishing
- Experience of working in a print finishing environment
- Clear oral communication skills
- Exceptionally good people skills, with the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with employees, managers and colleagues
- Basic knowledge of IT packages including word processing, spreadsheets, databases, email, and the internet to achieve work objectives
- Ability to work to deadlines and to demanding targets
- Organisation skills to be able to plan and complete jobs
- Ability to prioritise effectively, including managing conflicting priorities
- Good attention to detail
- Ability to work to stringent quality and operational systems
