The Company
Traditional ways of selling a property are fraught with issues - the lottery of finding an estate agent or auction house that have a track record of success and know what they are doing, the expense of fees, the risks of buyers pulling out, lowballing or gazundering, all combined with a notoriously slow and shaky conveyancing process. Smoothsale is leading the way in changing how properties are sold. Established in 2021, we are one of the UK's fastest-growing property trading companies, and a principal player in the quick-sale market. We help homeowners sell their property fast by buying directly from them ourselves, managing all aspects of the sales and conveyancing process without the risk of 3rd party buyers dropping the ball. And rather than the typical 6-9 months process, we can do so in as little as 7 days. The company has doubled in size organically each year since inception, and is now looking for a Head of Marketing to drive our next phases of growth.
While we are dedicated to our work, we also understand the importance of enjoying what we do. At SmoothSale, we create a positive and enjoyable workplace where team spirit and camaraderie thrive. The office is a relaxed, fun environment, enjoys a casual dress code, and regular company events - all key to collaborative culture.
The Team
The Head Of Marketing will lead the new Marketing department, and will work closely with the following:
- Sales
- Purchasing
- Investor Marketing
- Company Directors
- Third-party Agencies
Marketing is fast becoming central to our business growth plans, and underpins our future growth. The person joining us will be our first marketing hire, and as such we are looking for someone able to take responsibility for a range of requirements across the business – driving our brand forwards, forming new incentives, supporting our sales team, acquiring new customers and clients and nurturing our database. The team will grow over time and as results accelerate, and this person will need to develop into a people-manager and eventual business leader.
The Remit
Whilst the company is well established, the Marketing team is new, and needs to scale up and build out more comprehensive marketing programmes. The person who fills this role will have a range of responsibilities:
- Breadth – you will work with a wide selection of marketing channels in order to effectively increase the size of our customer base
- Commerciality – use incentives, pricing and promotion strategies
- Review – checking everything we currently have set up across our current marketing channels and benchmarking current performance
- Planning – helping set a roadmap of what we need to do when
- Delivering – taking the roadmap of actions, and methodically and systematically activating against them
- Campaign Management – running comprehensive iterative optimisation of all marketing activities to drive to target
- Stakeholder Management – liaising with key colleagues and sister teams to identify mutually beneficial activities
Requirements
In a nutshell, the Head Of Marketing will be our main driver of acquiring new customers across a range of marketing channels – principally within the performance marketing function, they will be responsible for identifying efficient and effective ways of increasing customer numbers. Initially, this will be through enhancing existing B2C paid performance channels such as Paid Search, Paid Social and Cross-Network, and the optimisation of lead generation through CRO initiatives. Medium-term, we will need to improve SEO, Affiliates, Direct Mail and beyond. Eventually, we will need to consider the whole TTL mix (including TV, Outdoor, Radio, Partnerships, etc). Reporting into the Sales Director, this role will be a key driver of results within the company, helping ensure rolling targets are being achieved.
