We are seeking a dynamic Sales and Marketing Assistant Manager to join our team. In this pivotal role, you will lead inbound conversion, support targeted outbound activities, and elevate our Publications as a strategic revenue stream. You’ll work closely with sales and marketing, and commercial operations to maximise pipeline quality, conversion, and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the conversion of inbound enquiries into qualified opportunities and revenue.
  • Own management of all online enquiries and the lead‑generation to sales conversion journey for Open and Closed training.
  • Support targeted outbound (re‑engage cold prospects/proposals; surface cross‑sell between services).
  • Use Salesforce/HubSpot data to optimise the funnel and inform prioritisation.

Marketing & Communications

  • Shape integrated campaigns and thought leadership that increase visibility and directly support pipeline growth.
  • Develop social and newsletter communications that build authority and engagement.
  • Use data and experimentation to refine channels, messaging, and ROI.
  • Collaborate with our agency to define the paid and organic strategy and continuously optimise channel mix, creative, targeting and measurement.

Publications

  • Own Publications as a growth line, protect service levels and grow beyond new releases through cross‑sell, bundles and promotions.
  • Ensure a reliable customer experience (service standards, on‑time fulfilment expectations, proactive issue‑prevention).
  • Surface insights on demand, pricing, and product gaps to inform the publications roadmap.

Commercial Operations & Continuity

  • Maintain pipeline hygiene and forecasting in Salesforce. Contribute reliable forecast data beyond Closed‑Won to support forecasting
  • Oversee contract progression and PO status with Operations and Finance (visibility, escalation of blockers, on time progression).
  • Provide cover and support for colleagues within Sales & Marketing and Operations during leave/high‑demand periods to ensure continuity.
  • Champion information governance on share point (accurate naming, version control, findability).
  • Act (or train to act) as First Aider and Fire Marshal.

Main Duties Include

  • Respond to inbound swiftly with tailored value propositions. Progress opportunities to close with clear next steps and timelines.
  • Re‑engage lapsed leads/proposals through structured cadences; quantify and report reactivation wins.
  • Develop compelling proposals and commercial offers; support bids as required.
  • Identify cross‑sell opportunities (e.g. between publications and courses; training and consultancy).

Skills, Experience and Qualifications

Required

  • 3–5 years in a growth‑oriented sales/marketing role with inbound conversion and pipeline ownership.
  • Strong written/verbal communication and stakeholder engagement.
  • Data‑literate with CRM (Salesforce/HubSpot experience preferred), funnel metrics, and forecasting.

Preferred

  • Degree (or equivalent) in a relevant field
  • Familiarity with the automotive industry
