Responsibilities
- Manage service centres to drive business forward while ensuring legality and compliance.
- Lead and develop teams, including performance management and staff development.
- Oversee warehouse processes, inventory control, and health and safety practices.
- Collaborate with colleagues, customers, and suppliers and communicate professionally.
- Utilise business systems and basic IT tools (e. g., ERP/WMS software, email, spreadsheets) to manage operations and reporting.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience in operations or service center management within manufacturing, engineering materials, logistics, or a related environment. (We have found that people who have managed in a builders merchant type background can be a good fit.)
- Strong leadership and people management skills, including team supervision, performance management, and staff development.
- Solid understanding of warehouse processes, inventory control, and health and safety practices.
- Excellent organisational, planning, and problem-solving abilities, with attention to detail and process improvement mindset.
- Clear and professional communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues, customers, and suppliers.
- Comfort with using business systems and basic IT tools (e. g., ERP/WMS software, email, spreadsheets) to manage operations and reporting.
- Experience in metals, engineering materials, or industrial distribution is beneficial but not essential.
