Working Painting Supervisor / Black Hat Painter Agency: Search Consultancy Location: Middlesbrough Search Consultancy is looking for a qualified Black Hat Painter (Working Painting Supervisor) to join an active university accommodation refurbishment project in Middlesbrough working with our client, Smiths. The main client requires a site-ticketed individual present on site at all times to participate in daily site coordination, while spending the majority of the day on hands-on painting and snagging. If you hold a valid SSSTS or SMSTS ticket, take pride in efficient commercial painting, and want to lock in a straightforward working supervisor role with steady hours, we have an immediate start available now. The Role Morning Site Briefings: Attending brief daily site meetings at 8:00 AM to report on progress, flag material requirements, and coordinate daily paint supplies. Hands-on Painting & Refurbishment: Carrying out internal refresh painting across student accommodation blocks,
including one-coat wall applications and general touch-ups. Snagging & Touch-Ups: Completing detailed finishings, snagging lists, and ensuring room handovers meet required client standards. Client Liaison / Black Hat Presence: Acting as the designated safety-ticketed presence on site to satisfy main client site governance while remaining fully active on tools. Requirements Supervisor Tickets: Valid SSSTS or SMSTS certificate is mandatory (Black Hat status). CSCS Card: Valid CSCS Card (Skilled Worker or Supervisor) is required. Experience: Time-served Painter & Decorator with proven commercial refurbishment experience. Tools & Kit: Full professional painting hand tools and standard 5-point PPE / whites (all paint and bulk materials provided on site). Right to Work: Must have a valid right to work in the UK.
