We have an exciting opportunity for a Condition Monitoring Diagnostic Engineer to join the Aberdeen team reporting to the Condition Monitoring Manager. In this role, you will be responsible for the technical analysis and reporting of machinery data, including vibration and other condition monitoring techniques. You will generate high-quality reports, provide actionable recommendations, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
The role involves peer reviewing technical documents, engaging with customers both remotely and on-site (including offshore visits) and supporting clients with equipment troubleshooting such as balancing and orbit analysis. A strong team player, you will also be confident working independently on customer sites, mentoring clients in basic CM practices, and demonstrating the value of implemented recommendations. This position operates within the framework of the John Crane Integrated Management System (IMS), ensuring all work is delivered to the highest standards. This role is based on our site within Aberdeen working Monday to Friday normal office hours. 10% travel to onshore and offshore sites.
Duties & Responsibilities (not limited to):
- Conduct technical analysis of machinery data, including vibration and other condition monitoring techniques.
- Produce detailed condition monitoring reports with corrective actions and technical recommendations.
- Peer review technical reports and documents to ensure high standards and consistency.
- Work collaboratively with the team to meet contract requirements and service level agreements.
- Attend customer sites (including offshore) for routine and ad-hoc testing and troubleshooting.
- Perform specialist vibration analysis and advanced diagnostics (e.g. balancing, orbit analysis).
- Engage directly with customers, both onsite and via office-based support teams.
- Provide consultation and mentoring to clients on basic condition monitoring techniques.
- Continuously review and improve condition monitoring programmes in coordination with the service delivery manager.
- Clearly demonstrate the value and effectiveness of recommendations through a defined reporting process.
- Work independently and professionally while representing the company on customer sites.
- Ensure all work complies with the John Crane Integrated Management System (IMS) standards.
Qualifications:
- Engineering degree or equivalent experience.
- Extensive experience in vibration analysis for condition monitoring of rotating equipment (pumps, compressors).
- Vibration Analysis ISO Category 2.
- Good level of communication and reporting.
- Lubrication Analysis ISO Category 2, or equivalent.
- Vibration Analysis ISO Category 3.
- Experience with client CMMS systems, like SAP and Maximo.
- Use of various hardware/software, preferably Emerson.
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Office.
