Smiths has grown from a single owner-operated plant hire company to a multifaceted group with family values still firmly at the heart of each project undertaken. With depots in Avonmouth, Cardiff, Gloucester, Stonehouse and Tewkesbury we operate predominately across the South-West of England. We specialise in Construction, Waste Management, Plant Hire, Demolition and Transport operations.
Basic mechanical experience essential for this role. Further training will be provided.
The successful applicant will have a valid UK Driving Licence.
What we are looking for:
- We are looking for someone who is looking for a hands on role, driven and hardworking to assist with the day to day repairs and maintenance duties on machinery in the Plant Hire Workshop. This role will be based at Eastington (GL10 3AQ)
- Training will be given on the job.
- The successful candidate will enjoy working in a busy workshop/yard environment.
- The successful individual will have a passion for machinery and a willingness to learn.
- We will provide you with suitable training to ensure that you can carry out the role safely and correctly.
All training will be provided all we require is for you to have a Driving licence.
Hourly rate dependent on experience £13.50 per hour.
Hours: 47.5 hours per week. 7am-5pm, Monday-Friday.
Responsibilities for the job role:
- Washing, greasing, and general maintenance of any vehicle/equipment at any time allocated to you by the Workshop Manager/Senior Technician
- Assist the workshop team in daily tasks
- Ability to work in a safe and efficient manner to timescales
- Attend appropriate training and personal development as required by the Company
- Observe all Health and Safety requirements and instructions at the site
- Ensure the work is carried out in accordance with company policies, to a high standard and in line with best practice
- Wear the appropriate PPE
