The Earthworks Plant Operative is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of heavy plant and machinery across demolition, civils, bulk earthworks, civil engineering, and land remediation projects. The role involves excavation, ground preparation, material handling, site clearance, and remediation activities in accordance with drawings, method statements, RAMS, and environmental controls.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive any plant/equipment as directed by the employer or third party
- Wash, grease, and perform general maintenance of any plant/equipment within allocated time
- Observe all health and safety requirements and instructions at the site
- Ensure work is carried out within deadlines, safely and efficiently, and relay accurate information to the customer or site supervisor
- Wear appropriate PPE
- Follow all instructions and direction from the customer or site supervisor
- Carry out best practice and safe working practices
- Report any near accidents or potential accidents
- Perform testing procedures to ensure machines work optimally during the working process
