Smiths has grown from a single owner-operated plant hire company to a multifaceted group with family values still firmly at the heart of each project undertaken. With depots in Avonmouth, Cardiff, Gloucester, Stonehouse and Tewkesbury we operate predominately across the South-West of England. We specialise in Construction, Waste Management, Plant Hire, Demolition and Transport operations.
Responsibilities
- The HGV Workshop Operative supports the safe and efficient operation of the 150 vehicle fleet by carrying out routine workshop and yard tasks.
- The role includes washing and cleaning HGVs to company and roadworthiness standards, greasing and lubricating vehicles and components, and assisting with basic maintenance and inspections as directed.
- The operative is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe workshop environment, reporting defects or damage, and following all health & safety and environmental procedures at all times.
