Smiths has grown from a single owner-operated plant hire company to a multifaceted group with family values still firmly at the heart of each project undertaken. With depots in Avonmouth, Cardiff, Gloucester, Stonehouse and Tewkesbury we operate predominately across the South-West of England. We specialise in Construction, Waste Management, Plant Hire, Demolition and Transport operations.
What we're looking for? To provide daily administrative control and coordination of the HGV workshop & MOT Facility, ensuring work is planned, jobs are raised correctly, parts are available, compliance documentation is in order, and workshop activity is recorded accurately. The role supports maximum vehicle uptime, legal compliance, effective communication with drivers/operations, and controlled maintenance costs.

Responsibilities for the job role:
- Responsible for issuing fuel keys and cards, with a focus on usage, spend and security.
- Prepare and process job cards, purchase orders, and invoices.
- Liaise with suppliers for parts orders and manage stock records.
- Maintain accurate records of vehicle defects, downtime, and workshop reports.
- Support with health & safety documentation and compliance checks.
- Handle incoming calls, emails, and queries relating to workshop operations.
- Assist the Fleet Manager with reporting, data entry, and general administration tasks.
- Monitor site and depot fuel usage, reporting and compliance and escalate any identified issues.
- Be the key contact for colleagues across the business for any fuel related queries.
