Smiths Equipment Hire Ltd are the Northwest's Largest Independent Equipment Hire Company with 19 Hire It Centres located across the region. We have a fantastic opportunity for a driven and enthusiastic Deputy Manager to join our busy Openshaw Depot. The role of Deputy Manager is to support the Depot Manager on a day to day basis in the management and smooth running of the team and the Depot itself.
The ideal candidate for this role will have Depot / Sales experience and will have a clear understanding of how to work efficiently in a Deputy Manager role. This position requires someone who is a dedicated team player and who has the success of the overall depot in focus.
You may be required to cover the Depot Manager if he is absent or, you will be working alongside the Manager focusing on the following key areas:
- Oversee All Depot Operations in the absence of the Depot Manager
- Ensure open quotations are dealt with in a timely manner
- Chase all late cash hires and keep to a minimum
- Deal with all loss damages initially and liaise with the Depot Manager
- Keep Stock replenished at all times
- Assist the Sales Hire Controller
- Taking Orders
- Contract conversions must be 85% above
- Ensure no equipment is hired under inspection
- Ensure all telephone calls are handled correctly
- Improve Hire Protect Sales
- Help the Depot Meet its depot targets
- Contribute to the overall depot sales targets
