Smiths Equipment Hire Ltd are the Northwest's Largest Independent Equipment Hire company with 19 Hire It Centres located across the region. We supply all types of customers in all types of business, specialising in many types of equipment, including plant and machinery to the construction and industrial sectors. A large fleet of delivery vehicles are able to supply almost any type of equipment that is requested.
We are looking for an experienced Plant Engineer to work in our Formby Depot. You will be required to repair, service and maintain all small tool equipment.
As a Plant Engineer you must:
- Have experience with repairing, servicing and maintaining Plant and Small Tool Equipment
- Have the ability to work under pressure and on your own initiative
- Repair, service and maintain small tool equipment in the workshop
- Be able to diagnose faults on a variety of small tool equipment
- Be reliable and have a flexible proactive approach
- Have the ability to diagnose faults on construction equipment and associated tool hire equipment
- Experience with Petrol and Diesel engines
- Full clean UK manual driving licence due to attending breakdowns
- Be able to work at the pace and to the required quality of jobs as allocated to you on a daily basis by the Depot Manager
The main responsibilities of a Plant Engineer are:
- Repairing, servicing and maintaining Plant and Small Tool equipment in the workshop
- Demonstrate exceptional customer service skills in all aspects of the working day
- A Plant Fitter must be able to diagnose faults on a variety of equipment and be flexible in their role to adapt to other pieces of equipment required
- Carry out other tasks and duties as required
- Be able to liaise with people at all levels
- Maintain Health and Safety to Company Standards
Working hours: Monday to Friday.
