Full time (42hrs) | Pennybridge, Ballymena

Salary Β£30 – Β£37k Dependent On Experience.

Due to continued improvement and growth Smiths Engineering require an experienced CNC Milling Machinist to set up and operate 3 & 5 Axis CNC milling machining centres. The successful candidate will be required to set machines and prove out programs to enable the smooth running of production batches.

Essential Criteria

  • Applicants must be time served or have level 3 engineering qualification at pass grade. (Or demonstrate suitable experience in other disciplines such as fitter / mechanic, joiner, electrician etc)
  • CNC machining experience setting and machining on milling machines.
  • Competency in finishing and inspecting machined parts.
  • Read and understand technical drawings.
  • Good attention to detail.
  • Working knowledge of Heidenhain or Siemens controls.

Desirable Criteria

  • Experience in Vericut.
  • CNC programming experience.
  • Experience in Mastercam or similar CAM Software.

Dayshift – Monday to Thursday (8.30am – 5.00pm and Friday 8.30am – 4.00pm). Ability to work 12 hours shifts will be essential after training period.
