Materials Manager
The Material Manager will be responsible for the organization, planning and management of all functions related to the management and call-off of raw materials, parts, and accessories.
Duties:
- To identify and implement strategic process improvement opportunities and cost saving initiatives
- Work with Global Supply Chain Management to implement standardized practices for purchasing, planning and factory materials management that ensure effective use of inventory and logistics resources.
- Support Material Planning related to NPI’s projects
- Control inventory levels for Raw Material in Line with approved Budget and Forecast.
- Manage VOTD for the Site and continues improvement towards assigned target
- Manage and own KPI’s related to Material Function along with Visual Management.
- Defines and continuously improves the materials supply processes from all (3rd party and intercompany) vendors to the factory lines in a manner that eliminates non-value-added activity and that supports a high efficiency production operation.
- Liaises with site P&T, Manufacturing and QA to ensure achievement of supply chain objectives with respect to new suppliers, new products introduction, engineering change and product quality
- Continual enhance on quantities of raw materials purchased in order to facilitate correct quantities in Stores and avoid shelf overflow, as well as aligning sets of BoM stock to increase inventory turns.
- Manage direct reports including performance management, corrective action, training, and development.
- Other duties as required.
Technical Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Demonstrable experience of the management of a factory material supply function and evidence of the delivery of measurable improvement in performance.
- Well-developed computer skills with high competency in use of all programs within MS Office Suite and well-developed analytical skills
- Demonstrable experience of the implementation and management of advanced factory planning and management methods.
- Experience of operating with a lean factory environment.
- Experience of and well-developed methodology in the management transformation projects or programs within a complex organizational structure.
- Well-developed understanding of SAP and with specific detailed implementation, change and operation of the SD and MM modules
- The ability to persistently pursue and achieve results. To look for process improvement and to embrace process change in order to drive the business forward. Actively create plans in order to hit or exceed targets.
- The ability and experience necessary to make good judgment in an increasingly complex business by sourcing and analyzing information from within the business and from industry. Demonstrates an understanding of the implications their decisions have on the regional and global supply chain and other processes within the business.
- The ability to inspire others to take action toward a common objective. The willingness to challenge others whilst considering their viewpoint and adapting their style to truly bring people with them.
- The ability to clearly articulate goals for people to follow and effectively lead and manage the performance.
- The ability to build an effective network of relationships both internally and externally. An important skill for this role is to understand key regional stakeholders and their needs and to proactively manage important internal or external relationships.
- The understanding of the commercial impact of changes and improvements to the regional supply chain. The ability to work closely with 3rd parties to achieve mutual benefit whilst remaining focused on delivery of commercial benefit for the region.
