We are looking for a Sustaining & Product Support Engineer to join our Technology team in Hemel Hempstead. This is an excellent opportunity for an early‑career engineer to play a key role in supporting existing products throughout their lifecycle while driving continuous improvement. Working as part of a collaborative, multi‑disciplinary team, you will help ensure that engineering processes run efficiently and that product data remains accurate and robust. You will contribute to solving real‑world challenges such as product obsolescence, quality improvements, and value engineering initiatives.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Driving engineering changes and continuous improvements through formal change processes
- Creating and updating engineering drawings, bills of materials, and technical documentation
- Supporting product lifecycle activities, maintaining integrity of product data
- Working closely with Manufacturing, Quality, Service, and Programme teams to implement improvements
- Advising stakeholders on change implementation, timelines, and potential impacts
- Supporting operations with the rollout of product updates and enhancements
- Contributing to ongoing process improvement initiatives

Qualifications
- Degree or HNC in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline
- Up to 2 years’ engineering experience
- Experience using SolidWorks (3D CAD) and product data management systems
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work across teams
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and general IT tools
- Self‑motivated with the ability to work independently and take ownership
- Eligibility for UK Security Check (SC) clearance
- Awareness of engineering lifecycle processes and gated design methodologies
- Understanding of ERP systems and business tools
- Knowledge of military or regulated industry standards
- Working towards professional accreditation
