This is a paid sandwich placement, suitable for students looking for a year industry during their degree course starting in Summer 2026, for 1 year. This role can be completed mostly remote. It is highly preferable if you are within regular commuting distance to Watford, England.

What does Marketing within Orthopaedics mean at S+N? Marketing within Orthopaedics at Smith+ Nephew sits at the intersection of innovation, clinical understanding and customer experience. The team works closely with surgeons, healthcare professionals and internal partners to ensure our products are supported by clear value propositions, meaningful insights and effective communication. It is about understanding real clinical challenges, using data and insight to guide decisions, and bringing products to life through campaigns, education and digital engagement that ultimately help improve patient outcomes.

What will you be doing? As a Marketing Intern during your Year in Industry Placement, you will be a key part of the Orthopaedics Marketing Team, supporting a wide range of commercial and marketing initiatives across our portfolio. You will gain hands on experience across planning, execution and delivery, contributing to campaigns, events and strategic projects that maximise product potential and enhance customer experience. Working closely with teams including Digital Communications and Medical Education, you will help create marketing assets and sales enablement tools, support market and customer insight activities, and assist with portfolio and lifecycle management. Throughout the placement, you will be encouraged to bring fresh ideas, use data to inform decisions and play an active role in improving how we connect with our customers.

What will you need to be successful? You are currently studying towards a marketing, business or related degree, with at least two years of degree level study completed and a minimum 2:1 achieved in your first year. You communicate clearly and confidently and enjoy working as part of a team across different functions. You are organised and adaptable, able to manage multiple priorities with strong attention to detail. You are comfortable using digital tools, data and insights to support decision making and continuous improvement.
