Smithly Ltd is a growing logistics technology company developing electronic and software-enabled systems for real-world logistics operations.
We are looking for a hands-on Electronics Systems Technician to help transform technology concepts into working prototypes and deployable systems.
This is a practical development role combining electronics design, prototyping, building, testing, troubleshooting and real-world field trials. We are particularly interested in someone who can combine engineering knowledge with strong practical technical ability.
What you'll do
- Help translate product concepts and technical requirements into practical electronic solutions.
- Design, build, assemble and test electronic prototypes and systems.
- Select and evaluate components, sensors and communications technologies.
- Test and troubleshoot PCBs, circuits, wiring and electronic assemblies.
- Use multimeters, oscilloscopes and other electronic test equipment.
- Build and modify wiring looms, harnesses and prototype assemblies.
- Work with sensors, telemetry, IoT, communications and vehicle electronics.
- Diagnose faults, identify root causes and develop practical solutions.
- Support embedded systems and hardware/software integration.
- Install prototypes in company vehicles and conduct real-world field trials.
- Collect and analyse technical test data and improve prototypes through repeated testing.
- Produce schematics, test records, specifications and other technical documentation.
- Work with specialist engineers, manufacturers and suppliers where required.
Selection process
Shortlisted candidates will undertake a structured interview and practical technical assessment.
The assessment will focus on demonstrated electronics capability, troubleshooting, practical problem-solving, prototype-development thinking and the ability to apply technical knowledge to real engineering problems.
