We have an exciting opportunity for a Hygiene Operative to join our hygiene team. Smithfield Murray Ltd is a food manufacturing organisation with a site based in Trafford Park. We have over 20 years’ experience in the food business and specialise in the production of various poultry products for UK retail as well as food service manufacturing in our state of the art factory.
As a Hygiene Operative, you will play a vital role working as part of the evening Hygiene Team, helping to ensure all equipment and machinery is cleaned, sanitised and ready for use when the dayshift production team arrive.
Responsibilities:
- Adhering to all safety rules in place.
- Setting up and maintaining the effective running of the machines.
- Keeping an adequate housekeeping standard.
- Reporting and correcting any issues found.
- Cleaning down the equipment and looking after tools/equipment used during these duties.
Key responsibilities:
- Cleaning and sanitation of production machinery and all areas of the food factory, ensuring efficiency is achieved to the highest standard.
- Working with high pressure cleaning systems along with foaming and sanitising agents, cleaning all equipment and machines, and scrubbing walls, floors, and ceilings.
- Completion of hygiene records.
- Ensuring the correct cleaning chemicals are used for the cleaning task.
- This role may involve heavy lifting.
- Other adhoc hygiene related tasks.
- Adhere to the company’s H&S policies and procedures.
- Adhere to the company’s Hygiene policies and procedures.
Skills and Experience required:
- Hygiene and/or industrial cleaning experience.
- Basic food hygiene and COSHH training.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Flexible approach.
- Good communication skills.
- Team player.
Candidates will ideally have experience working in a food manufacturing environment and will have prior experience cleaning and working within a hygiene team. This is a full time, permanent position. The hours of work are Monday to Friday 17:00 - 01:30, although some flexibility will be required depending on production finish time and weekend overtime. Starting from £14.17 per hour plus annual company benefits which include a great holiday package, pension scheme, and staff sales.
