Senior AI Solution Architect in Uttoxeter

We’re looking for a visionary Senior AI Solution Architect to lead the design and development of intelligent solutions that transform how we work and serve our customers. This role focuses on AI architecture, governance, and model governance, with an emphasis on driving change and education across Smith+Nephew.

You will be at the forefront of our AI strategy, working across business units to identify opportunities where AI can deliver real value. You will design scalable architecture blueprints, select tools and technologies, guide the development of proof-of-concepts, and help transition them into full-scale deployments. You will collaborate with business and IT leaders to define standards, governance, and architectural guardrails that ensure consistency, compliance, and scalability. Over time, you will build and lead a team of solution engineers and data scientists focused on delivering cutting-edge AI solutions.

What you’ll need to be successful

Success in this role means being a trusted expert and a strategic thinker who can translate complex technical concepts into business value. You’ll need:

• A strong foundation in AI/ML technologies including GenAI, NLP, computer vision and automation, with hands-on experience in platforms such as Palantir, Agentforce, Copilot and Azure Data Intelligence
• Proven experience designing and implementing AI solutions across multiple domains, ideally within regulated environments
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage technical talent
• A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science or a related field, plus relevant certifications in AI/ML tools
