The Regulatory Affairs Apprenticeship programme, starting September 2026, provides an introduction to the area of Regulatory Affairs in Medical Technology, crafted to launch you into a career within this industry whilst providing you all the tools you need to thrive!

Regulatory Affairs plays a crucial role in ensuring our products remain compliant with market and patient needs. With our products available in 100 countries globally, supporting this effort requires significant dedication! This team is responsible for obtaining vital approvals from governments to manufacture our medical devices. They are involved in every stage of the business cycle, from coordinating with governing bodies during innovation to post-market activities ensuring products perform as intended and follow regulations. Additionally, they play a key role in understanding market needs and servicing customers.

You'll be embarking on a Level 6 Senior Compliance & Risk Specialist Apprenticeship where you will develop your understanding of the benefits of promoting compliance whilst becoming skilled at following up on actions and evaluating efficiency.

This unique and diverse role will focus your learning and development across 5 key areas:

  • Regulatory Affairs basics; including how to complete key tasks and duties, how to use our operating systems and the how, why and what of Regulatory Affairs at S+N.
  • R&D and New Product Introduction; shadowing within these teams, understanding how the products we make work, and how they get into our customers' hands from new ideas through to how they're made and sold.
  • Regulatory Intelligence; understanding how we react to new regulations and how we work to understand what might be changing in the future.
  • Understanding S+N's various regulatory needs; how we navigate differing regulations across the various areas of our business.
  • We operate a number of different technology businesses globally (Wound Management, Sports Medicine, Orthopaedics and Robotics), this apprenticeship will give you the opportunity to gain additional regulatory experience across all areas.

We're looking for someone with:

  • Minimum GCSE Grade 6 / A or B (or equivalent) in Maths and English.
  • Achieved or predicted strong A-Level results (or equivalent Level 3 qualification) — typically BBC or above. Scientific or technical subjects preferred.
