We are seeking a visionary and strategic leader to join our global team asDirector, Global Climate Strategy. This is a high impact role responsible for shaping and driving our enterprise-wide climate strategy, with indirect influence over revenue tied to customer ESG requirements and direct oversight of the energy investment portfolio.
You will lead the development and execution of our Net-Zero roadmap, manage science-based targets, and embed climate accountability across the organisation. This role offers the opportunity to influence global operations, engage with senior leadership, and represent the company in key industry forums
What will you be doing?
Strategy Development & Leadership
- Own and evolve the global climate strategy and Net-Zero roadmap.
- Lead the setting and management of Science-Based Targets (SBTs) for Scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions.
- Advise senior leadership on climate risks, opportunities, and strategic direction.
- Integrate climate risk into strategic planning, capital allocation, and ERM.
- Develop green manufacturing strategies addressing climate-adjacent topics like waste and water.
Decarbonization Program Management
- Drive cross-functional initiatives to reduce Scope 1 and 2 emissions across global sites.
- Partner with Supply Chain and Procurement on Scope 3 decarbonization.
- Collaborate with R&D/Product Development on sustainable design and materials.
- Address emissions from specialised processes like sterilization and cleanrooms.
Data, Reporting & Compliance
- Oversee annual GHG inventory and ensure data accuracy across all scopes.
- Support climate disclosures aligned with TCFD, CDP, and CSRD.
- Develop internal dashboards and metrics to track climate performance.
- Support ISO 50001 implementation at key facilities.
Stakeholder Engagement & Communication
- Act as a spokesperson on climate strategy to investors, customers, and regulators.
- Build internal climate literacy and accountability.
- Represent the company in industry associations and multi-stakeholder initiatives.
What will you need to be successful?
Education & Certifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Engineering, Business, or related field.
- Sustainability or climate-related certification (if not covered by education).
- Experience in corporate sustainability or environmental management.
- Experience in a leadership role with proven success in climate strategy.
- Experience in medical device, pharmaceutical, or healthcare sectors preferred.
Competencies
- Strong influence and collaboration skills across technical and executive levels.
- Excellent analytical, project management, and communication abilities.
- Familiarity with climate policy, carbon markets, and reporting frameworks (TCFD, CDP).
- Expertise in GHG Protocol, carbon footprinting, and SBTi.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office; Power BI and ESG software (e.g., ServiceNow ESG, Muir AI) preferred.
