We are looking for an experienced and committed Family Solicitor to join our busy and highly regarded Family Department. Our Family Department has an excellent reputation for providing high-quality legal advice and representation across a broad range of private and public family and childcare law, and domestic abuse cases. This is an excellent opportunity for a solicitor who is looking to develop their career within a supportive, experienced team while taking responsibility for their own caseload. The successful candidate will work alongside experienced fee earners, dealing with a varied caseload. You will have the opportunity to develop your technical expertise, build strong client relationships and undertake your own advocacy in appropriate cases. The successful candidate will be expected to: · Manage and progress their own caseload under appropriate supervision and support. · Deal with a range of private and public family law matters, including those involving domestic abuse. · Conduct advocacy at hearings where appropriate. · Assist experienced fee earners with a range of complex matters. · Prepare court applications, statements, bundles, correspondence and other legal documentation. · Conduct client consultations and attend meetings and court hearings. · Handle new client enquiries and assess their legal needs. · Maintain regular communication with clients and provide clear and timely updates. · Develop and maintain strong professional relationships with clients and other professionals. · Prepare and submit Legal Aid applications and manage Legal Aid requirements. · Maintain accurate and comprehensive case notes. · Use case management systems and relevant court portals efficiently · Ensure all work is completed in accordance with the firm's quality, compliance and risk-management procedures. · Work collaboratively with colleagues while also demonstrating the ability to work independently. We are seeking a solicitor with a minimum of 2 years' post-qualification experience who has gained practical experience in family law. You should have experience in: · Private family law matters. · Public family law and childcare matters. · Domestic abuse matters. · Legal Aid work. · You will ideally be confident dealing with clients, managing your own caseload and undertaking advocacy where appropriate. Further training and support will be provided.
