The Role

  • Providing uniformed high visibility security both in the vehicle and on foot.
  • Internal policing of School grounds which hold approximately 90 buildings. As well as lock up, buildings are re-checked for fire and security integrity.
  • Attending fire alarm activations and assisting with fire drills.
  • Stopping and checking of unknown persons/vehicles anytime across 7 days per week and pupils after 2200h.
  • Carrying out traffic duties and traffic management including signage of School events.
  • Providing regular high profile mobile patrols.
  • Use of CCTV / ANPR systems for investigations.
  • ANPR barrier management.
  • Assist with door faults including swipe/biometric faults.
  • Dealing with calls, emails and text messages, and following any issues through to resolution.
  • Completion of PNB (Pocket Notebook) for the recording of incidents, plus any additional actions and communication taken.
  • During periods of holiday and bad weather, checking of buildings for leaks/damage.
  • Assisting with the sorting and delivery of pupil parcels during the holiday periods.
  • To carry out night patrol (Lone working communication equipment will be provided).
  • To be able to respond, assess and escalate incidents when necessary.
  • To confidentially deal with emergency calls of all descriptions.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Confident communicator, capable of communicating at all levels, both orally via telephone /face to face and in written form.
  • Committed to excellence in customer service provision.
  • Ability to deal with confidential information in a discrete and tactful manner.
  • Reliable and accurate in timekeeping.
  • Team player who is able to work in harmony with others.
  • Personally presentable.
  • Possess a combination of firmness, tact and a sense of humour.
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure.
  • A quick learner with a flexible approach to the changing nature of their role.
  • Willing to undertake any training relevant to the role.
  • Hold a full driving licence and be prepared on rare occasions to use his/her vehicle where necessary, for which insurance will be provided and mileage paid.
  • IT literacy and skilled in the use of Microsoft Office applications.
  • CCTV experience.
  • ANPR experience.
  • Paxton Net2 experience.
  • Biometric experience.
