The Role
Our client is a small, family run engineering business based in Wem, Shropshire. Seeking an experienced Operations Manager with proven Business Development, Quality, H&S and Project Management experience. Reporting to the Managing Director the post holder will be an experienced Operations professional and an active member of the management team. Their team is dedicated to delivering top-quality service, and they are always seeking new and creative ways to exceed their clients\\\’ expectations. This is a varied role and a great opportunity for an experienced and driven Operations Manager with commercial sales experience. You will be responsible to lead and take control to ensure the operations across the business are of the highest standards in the means of quality, safety and customer satisfaction. The ideal candidate will be ambitious to face challenges, implement processes that enhance the operations of the business and be confident to devise and deliver strategy. Key Responsibilities
- Manage entire operations of projects, ensuring delivery is efficient, on time and to a high standard.
- Develop and grow new and existing business opportunities.
- Deliver pricing strategies and manage quotations and tenders.
- Directly responsible for the scheduling and manufacturing of jobs that are issued from their innovative design team.
- Managing and improving the Company\\\’s QHSE systems and encouraging a culture of excellence and compliance.
- Logistical responsibilities such as scheduling installations, organising employee workload, ordering materials.
- Maintaining accurate contact records and a detailed sales pipeline using CRM software.
- Key point of contact for external ISO certifications and lead audits.
- Provide technical guidance and support to colleagues and customers.
Skills And Qualifications
- Proven sales and managerial experience within Waste or Recycling and Fabrication industries essential.
- Quality management experience within a manufacturing/engineering industry.
- Have knowledge of mechanical manufacturing processes – must be able to read and interpret detailed fabrication drawings.
- In addition, they are looking for someone who is driven and who can take ideas and implement them successfully, someone who will positively contribute to the planned development and expansion of the workshops.
- Proven track record as a Health and Safety Professional, with experience of maintaining a safety-first culture.
- Performed principal contractor role, fully conversant with CDM Regulations.
- Have a high level of competency and accuracy in writing and maintaining clear and professional documentation relating to integrated management systems.
- Project Management experience.
- Excellent communication, negotiation and presentation skills.
- Proven, demonstrable and thorough knowledge of ISO Standards.
- NEBOSH and/or IOSH qualified.
- Bachelor\\\’s degree in industrial engineering, mechanical engineering, or related fields with a strong emphasis in project management.
- Highly proficient in all Microsoft applications.
- Ability to identify needs, prioritise workloads, set achievable targets, evaluate progress and to meet deadlines.
- Full clean driving licence as occasional site visits will be required.
