An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the School in the role of Head of Adventure. The School has a thriving outdoor programme including well‑established expeditions to Norway and Scotland, Ten Tors and 80+ pupils doing DofE Gold.

The Role

The post holder will aim to inspire a generation of school pupils to explore the opportunities offered by outdoor adventure and to realise their benefits in all aspects of their lives by organising, leading and facilitating a wide range of adventurous outdoor activities while providing support and advice for all related programmes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for overseeing the Combined Cadet Force (CCF) as Contingent Commander
  • Manage the Outdoor Education Centre
  • Lead a diverse range of adventurous experiences across the school
  • Act as Duke of Edinburghs Award (DofE) Manager

Skills And Qualifications

  • Enthusiasm for outdoor adventure and cadet training, inspiring pupils and staff.
  • Strong leadership and coaching skills to develop teamwork, resilience, and personal growth.
  • Extensive outdoor qualifications and experience, ideally Mountain Leader (Summer).
  • Committed to enhancing pupils personal development, leadership, and adventurous skills.
  • Alignment with the school’s values, ethos, and inclusive culture.
