The Role
- Loading and unloading of vehicles and general warehouse duties to ensure efficient and effective operations are maintained.
- Picking and packing of products in the warehouse in line with business requirements, including completing all administration activities in relation to goods in and out.
Key Responsibilities
- Loading and unloading of international and domestic vehicles in a safe and timely manner.
- Checking and completing relevant documentation.
- Receive deliveries of storage goods into the warehouse. Check quantities/condition, record receipt and complete paperwork.
- Put away customer goods into relevant racking space; strategically store merchandise to maximize storage space within the warehouse.
- Complete stock and inventory checks on locations as required.
- Maintain good housekeeping standards.
- Maintain cleanliness in all areas including warehouse, warehouse office, goods yard and car parks.
- Thoroughly inspect merchandise for any damages and discrepancies.
- Maintain an accurate record of all merchandise received and distributed at all times in line with company procedures and standards.
- Contact relevant office staff to resolve any shipment or delivery issues.
- Use forklifts (counterbalance/reach trucks) to load, unload, move, stack, and arrange merchandise accordingly.
- Manual handling of goods.
- Safety checks of handling equipment, roller shutter doors, dock levellers, etc.
- Liaising with visiting drivers and subcontractors, providing operational and health & safety instructions.
- Cooperate fully with site health and safety requirements.
- Site and facilities maintenance and repairs.
- Awareness of fire safety on site and conducting fire checks.
Skills and Qualifications
- Demonstrable experience in a warehouse logistics environment.
- Computer literate in MS Office 365 applications.
- Effective team player.
- Good time keeping and organisational skills.
- Logical approach to issue resolution.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Adaptable with change and continuous improvement.
- Forklift truck licence.
- First aid qualification/certification preferred.
