Role Overview
They are looking for Learning Support Assistants to work within their busy Additional Learning Support Team. In this rewarding role, you will provide in‑class and out‑of‑class support to assist students with learning difficulties or disabilities to help them achieve their best possible outcomes, including personal care, literacy and numeracy support.
You will be a key part of the Student Support team, assisting in planning, preparation and reviewing of learning materials with curriculum staff, providing feedback and carrying out reviews as appropriate to ensure students are making expected progress and working toward outcomes.
You are expected to effectively support students, dealing with challenging behaviour when it arises, and helping them develop their own coping strategies.
Responsibilities
- Provide in‑class and out‑of‑class support to students with learning difficulties or disabilities.
- Assist with personal care, literacy, numeracy and other classroom activities.
- Support planning, preparation and review of learning materials with curriculum staff.
- Give feedback and conduct reviews to track student progress.
- Deal with challenging behaviour and help students develop coping strategies.
Qualifications
- Hold or be working toward a Maths and English L2/C grade.
- Be willing to work toward an adult learner support or equivalent qualification.
- Have experience supporting students in an educational setting.
- Knowledge of SEND, ALS, and EHCPs.
Department Information
In this role you will work closely with members of the Additional Learning Support and Curriculum department teams, reporting directly to the LSA Manager and liaising with tutors to support learners.
