Smile Education is working in partnership with The Endeavour Multi Academy Trust to recruit a number of dedicated, enthusiastic, and energetic Teaching Assistants for a forward-thinking Secondary Special School located on the Wolverhampton / South Staffordshire border. Due to school expansion, we are seeking Teaching Assistants who can make a positive contribution to school life and are committed to raising standards and supporting pupils with additional needs.

We Are Looking for Teaching Assistants Who:

  • Have experience working with or caring for children with additional needs, including complex behavioural and medical needs
  • Are able to work constructively as part of a team and also use their own initiative
  • Demonstrate mutual respect and consistent support for students
  • Are fully committed to meeting the individual needs of pupils
  • Hold an NVQ Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent

The Role Will Include:

  • Support for Pupils: Assisting pupils with personal care and additional needs, including first aid and welfare matters (e.g. changing, feeding, and using specialist equipment)
  • Supporting and coordinating medical or dental visits as appropriate
  • Supervising pupils to ensure their safety and wellbeing, in line with Health & Safety procedures
  • Accompanying pupils and teaching staff on educational visits, trips, and off-site activities
  • Encouraging pupils to engage with learning activities and interact positively with others
  • Support for Teachers: Preparing classrooms for lessons and clearing down after sessions
  • Assisting with and maintaining displays, notice boards, and learning environments
  • Supporting teachers with behaviour management and reporting concerns appropriately
  • Liaising with parents on general pupil matters when required
  • Support for the Curriculum: Supporting pupils to understand instructions and access the curriculum
  • Preparing and maintaining resources and equipment as directed
  • Attending training and CPD sessions, including behaviour management and specialist support strategies
