Smile Education are delighted to be supporting a small, specialist SEND primary provision in the Wolverhampton area. We are seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a child with ASD (Autism) within a Key Stage 1 class. This warm and welcoming school is part of a large, professional team that supports families across the Wolverhampton and Dudley areas, ensuring every pupil feels valued and supported on their learning journey.
Responsibilities
- Provide 1:1 support for a pupil with ASD within a KS1 class
- Assist in delivering engaging learning activities tailored to individual needs
- Give feedback and work closely with the class teacher to track progress
- Encourage positive behaviour in line with the school's behaviour policy
- Help to create a nurturing, inclusive classroom environment
Qualifications
- Hold a minimum Level 2 qualification in Childcare, Education, or a relevant field
- Have UK-based experience supporting pupils with SEND, ideally within a mainstream or specialist setting
- Confident working 1:1 with pupils and delivering tailored learning support
- Able to manage behaviour calmly and effectively
- Hold a current Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or be willing to apply for one through Smile Education
