The Role

  • Support teaching and learning for pupils with Special Educational Needs
  • Work closely with teaching staff, Senior Leadership Team, in-house specialists and therapy professionals to support pupil progress
  • Adapt support strategies in line with guidance to meet individual needs
  • Supervise pupils at lunchtime
  • Undertake duties as required to contribute to a safe, positive and supportive learning environment

The Ideal Candidate

  • Have strong behaviour management skills
  • Be able to listen to guidance and adapt their support approach to meet individual student needs
  • Have experience supporting students with a range of additional needs
  • Hold an NVQ Level 3 qualification (or equivalent) and have experience working with children with Special Educational Needs
  • Have high standards and expectations of themselves and the pupils they support
  • Be creative, enthusiastic and have a positive “can do” attitude
  • Enjoy working collaboratively as part of a dedicated and hardworking team
  • Have excellent interpersonal and communication skills
