This welcoming and highly supportive school requires Teaching Assistants on a regular basis to cover staff absence, training courses, and to support a growing number of students joining the school throughout the year.

The school provides specialist education for students with a wide range of additional needs and supports pupils from across eight local authorities. Students may have:

• Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC)
• ADHD
• Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD)
• Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs
• Sensory impairments
• Non-verbal communication needs

This role offers an excellent opportunity for someone who already has experience supporting children with SEND or for those looking to develop a long-term career within special education. As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with experienced teachers and support staff within the classroom. Depending on the needs of the school, your responsibilities may include:

• Supporting students on a 1:1 basis
• Delivering small group interventions
• Assisting with classroom activities and learning tasks
• Promoting positive behaviour and engagement
• Supporting students with communication, social and emotional development
• Helping to create a safe, inclusive and nurturing learning environment

You will be based within a class alongside multiple Teaching Assistants, providing excellent support and opportunities to learn from experienced colleagues.

• Hold a Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent)
• Have experience working with children or young people, ideally within an educational setting
• Have an interest in supporting students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)
• Are patient, caring and adaptable
• Can work effectively as part of a team
• Are confident using their own initiative when required
• Are looking to gain valuable experience within education
• Are available for flexible work throughout the academic year
