Are you a nurturing and adaptable teacher who believes every child deserves the opportunity to thrive? Do you have the skills and experience to make learning accessible, engaging and meaningful for pupils with additional needs? If so, we would love to hear from you.

This is an excellent opportunity for a committed teacher who can combine strong classroom practice with a personalised approach to supporting children's academic, social and emotional development. As a KS1 Teacher, you will plan and deliver engaging lessons while adapting your teaching to meet the individual needs of pupils. You will help create a positive, structured and inclusive learning environment where children feel safe, supported and motivated to learn.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Planning and delivering engaging lessons in line with the Key Stage 1 curriculum.
  • Differentiating learning activities to meet a range of abilities and additional needs.
  • Supporting pupils with SEN, including Autism, ADHD, communication difficulties and social, emotional and mental health needs.
  • Creating a calm, inclusive and well-managed classroom environment.
  • Supporting pupils' emotional regulation, confidence and independence.
  • Monitoring, assessing and recording pupil progress.
  • Working collaboratively with teaching assistants, SENCOs and other school professionals.
  • Implementing individual support strategies to help pupils overcome barriers to learning.
  • Promoting positive behaviour, social development and classroom engagement.
  • Maintaining high standards of safeguarding and pupil welfare.

You will ideally have:

  • Experience teaching Key Stage 1, particularly Year 1 and Year 2.
  • Previous experience supporting children with Special Educational Needs.
  • Strong knowledge of differentiated teaching and inclusive classroom practice.
  • The ability to adapt lessons to meet individual learning needs.
  • Confidence managing classroom behaviour and supporting emotional regulation.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • A patient, nurturing and child-centred approach.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting children's wellbeing.
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), as required for the position.

This opportunity offers the chance to use your teaching experience to support pupils at a crucial stage in their education, helping them develop essential skills, build confidence and achieve their potential.

If you are a KS1 Teacher with SEN experience looking for your next opportunity in Codsall, Smile Education would love to hear from you.

We are committed to safeguarding children. Each applicant will be expected to undertake compliance checks including Prohibited list, Barred list, DBS and Qualifications.
