Pay Rates

  • Level 2 & Level 3 Teaching Assistants: £95 - £110 per day
  • Primary HLTAs: Competitive rates based on experience

Smile Education is proud to be working in partnership with a number of successful and welcoming primary schools across Hyde, Whitby, Middlesbrough, Stockton-on-Tees, Yarm, and Tameside.

We are currently recruiting enthusiastic and dedicated Primary HLTAs, SEN Teaching Assistants, and Level 2 & Level 3 Teaching Assistants to support pupils across EYFS, Key Stage 1, and Key Stage 2.

The Role

  • Support pupils in their academic, social, and emotional development.
  • Deliver targeted interventions and small group sessions.
  • Provide one-to-one support for pupils with additional learning needs and SEN.
  • Work closely with class teachers to deliver engaging and effective lessons.
  • Help create a positive, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment.
  • Support pupils across EYFS, KS1, and KS2 where required.
  • For HLTA roles, lead lessons and cover classes in the teacher's absence.
  • The Ideal Candidate Will Have
  • A relevant Level 2, Level 3, HLTA, or equivalent qualification.
  • A minimum of 6 months' UK classroom experience.
  • Experience supporting children with SEN is desirable.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • The ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff.
  • A proactive and flexible approach to supporting learning.

Requirements

  • Enhanced DBS Certificate registered on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one through Smile Education.
  • Ability to provide two years of references, including at least one relating to experience working with children.
  • Right to work in the UK.
